MEC Race Series 2013 Race #1 10k


Started the race too fast. Should have kept the 5:10-5:15 pace or even higher into the 5:20 pace mark and then floored it at the 5km mark, as I paid a big price in the 9th split where I was delirious wondering why my legs were leaden. The good thing was I was able to calm my negative thoughts once I passed the 9km mark and dug in and started to floor it. The last split took a minute off and it proved to me, if I dug in I can do well. Lesson learned, I'll aim to do better next time. Positives: PB'd 5km - 25:30 and 10k - 52:24.
